The Shrub Package includes 25 seedlings, 5 of each species: Allegheny Serviceberry, Arrowwood Viburnum, Gray Dogwood, Highbush Cranberry, and American Plum. See individual species pages for more details on the shrubs.
Seedlings are estimated at 1-0, 12-18".
Ideal conditions if planting all five in same area: sun with moist soils.
Seedling information
Allegheny Serviceberry: Matures up to 25'. This low maintenance shrub is the tastiest of all the serviceberries and is favored by many wildlife as well.
Arrowwood Viburnum: Can grow to 10'. This deer resistant shrub is named for its straight wood historically used to make arrows.
Gray Dogwood: May reach 15'. This hardy bush not only feeds over 100 species of birds, but also forms dense thickets to discourage invasives such as buckthorn.
Highbush Cranberry: Matures at 15'. Another wild edible, these berries often persist into winter when food becomes scarce.
American Plum: May reach 20'. Deer may munch of fallen fruit of this wild edible which also works well as a visual screen or windbreak.

Seedling orders must be picked up in person in late April or early May in Medford or Phillips, Wisconsin. Taylor County LCD does not ship trees, shrubs or planting products to individual customers.
The exact pick-up dates will be sent out in early April by email and/or USPS mail. The tree pick-up schedule has typically been on a Thursday, 3-6 p.m. and Friday, 8-11 a.m., for Medford orders and Friday from 8:30-11 a.m. for Phillips orders. If you are unable to pick up your order during those days/times, you may send another person to the pick-up or contact the Taylor County LCD at 715-748-1469 to make other arrangements.
